Mischievous Wisps
Spirits of the forest want to play! They harry you, seeking attention. Choose one:
- Entertain the wisps: Describe how you do so. If you succeed, the wisps are friendly and guide you on your journey.
- Ignore the wisps: the wisps harass you into the night, increasing the difficulty to sleep, then disappear in the morning. This increases the obstacle to sleep: Ob 4 for 0 actions, Ob3 for 1 action, Ob2 for 2 actions, no test for 3 actions.

Dryad of the Old Tree
An ancient oak tree sits in the middle of a large clearing. When you enter, a dryad steps out of the tree, taking a form reminiscent of your own, and watches you warily. She will not stop you from continuing on your way. If you try to communicate with her, she responds in a sophisticated sign language (a true language, not just vague gesturing). Failure in communication will put her on guard, prepared to defend herself and the tree. She is considered a Strength 5 Wood spirit and defends herself by launching sharp leaves from the tree.
A hunter's pit trap
A pit trap was left here by some hunter long ago, concealed under a pile of leaves. Falling hurts and climbing out is really tiring, so watch your step.
