Mars' Glare
Mars' Glare is a magical spell.
Ob: 2^ 4 Actions
With but a scornful glance, the caster can cause any non-magical object of metal, stone, or wood to crumble to dust.
For a weapon, add together the target weapon's Power and its VA. Subtract 1 for a Poor Quality weapon, add 1 for a Superior Quality weapon. This number, plus the base Ob of the spell, is the obstacle for destroying a particular weapon. So a Run-of-the-Mill sword would be Ob 5, while a Run-of-the-Mill Footman's Axe would be Ob 7. A Poor Quality sword would be Ob 4.
For armor, double the number of dice the armor provides. Subtract 1 for Poor Quality armor, add 1 for Superior Quality armor. This number, plus the base Ob of the spell, is the obstacle for destroying that armor. So Run of the Mill Full Plate is Ob 12, whereas Poor Quality light chain mail is Ob 7.
For objects, the object generally uses: 5 for metal, 4 for stone, 0 for wood. Add 1 for a superior quality item, subtract 1 for poor quality, subtract two is the object is a set of tools, subtract 1 if the object is furniture. Add extra Ob for the size of the object. +0 for a handheld object, +1 for an object the size of a person, and generally go with the gut for larger objects.
For objects with Immortal Investment, add +1 Ob for every 10 Fate, 5 persona, or 1 deeds.
