Reborn in Fire

A phoenix never truly dies—when it would die, its body is consumed by fire, and the ashes left over form a star sign on the ground. This star sign can be followed to a site of rebirth. When a fire is lit there, the phoenix is reborn in all its majesty and glory. The Phoenix's site of rebirth is a number of hexes away from where it died equal to its largest wound, and the ob to find it is the same (use Orienteering, Astrology, or similar).
